Chris,

I couldn't have said it better myself. Many "quick for a buck" salesmen offer placement in the top 40 for outrageous rates and spend little time researching and caring for their client. Then there's you and Josh. You both produce results and are honest about time frames and outcomes. I think you need to raise your rates because what you are selling is valuable considering the "snake oil" competition.

PS- I talked with Dave Wallace and recommended that the 6 of us have dinner soon. Maybe next weekend?

Even great agencies have bad seeds working for them. Ive seen it before, bring in someone with a great resume and loads of experience and after 6 months you realize its all BS. I wish it wasnt so but unfortunately it is.

Have you ever considered freelancing to the agencies?

This is so true. Here's a shimmer of hope though. When I used to sell B2B, the quality of jobs would go up with honesty. People trust integrity, and there's just something that you can't trust with a lot of these hustle and hook type companies/salespeople. I worked with one dude who was a clear snake, and his numbers showed it, I was honest, and I beat him out every month.

Do you think you'd be where you are today if you weren't honest? In the long-term, you will be able to use longevity and referrals to do whatever you want. You have been doing this longer than anyone I know. You can go to every seminar, meeting, social, or sock-hop on the planet, but if you can't substantiate the jargon, then everything will fall apart. These dudes use client ignorance to their advantage, and that's the same thing as taking advantage of your clients, and once they find out... you're gone for good.. These clients are not stupid, if they were, they would not pay a ton of cash for an SEO every month.

Sorry for the rant... But damn.. I know what you're saying.
