I wouldn’t necessarily throw in the towel on the ‘boyband’ idea. A lot of the more well known SEO personalities take themselves waaaay too seriously, and poking fun at it in this manner could be very funny. You just missed the mark, is all. Can’t win them all. Plus, I do think that self-deprecation is much easier to pull off. Maybe you can mix in some self-deprecation with the boyband idea, and pull it off. ;)

Okay next time you wanna drop a g see me first! You tried too hard man. Drinkbait was awesome because it was you, in person, live and that’s your strength. I’m not saying you can’t do something online but how many people did you touch with SEOBoyBand, and I don’t mean that literally. Okay it was funny ha ha, but drinkbait was fun, wahoo! and funny, ha ha ha ha ha ha. I definitely give you props for baring your soul, I think we can all take something form that!

That feedback is quite helpful. Odd when you think something can’t fail if you force it to, then it does. The worst is when everybody else seems to know why it didn’t work.

Expect more llamas and penguins and less boyband from this blog in the future :-)

Peter is probably right, and while the ppc campaign was inventive these things do tend to be organic, as I know you know.

Raised a small chuckle with me but something that ‘meta’ is always going to struggle.
