Today is Thanksgiving, and there is a lot for blackhat SEOs to be thankful for.
(NOTE: I am not a blackhat SEO, and I do not condone / support / use any of the following techniques)
- Buying old domains is cheaper, faster, easier than building good content rich websites
- 301 redirects can fix / hide / pop almost anything
- Link spam emails are still cheap, and even at a .000001 response rate they can be worth the effort
- Fake toolbar page rank
- Scraper sites still work, and are getting better / smarter / harder to detect every day
- People still download and execute almost any script you put on the web
- Cloaking can turn any link exchange into a one way, and can scrape nofollows into or out of link scheme scripts as needed
- Affiliate program payouts continue to get higher and higher
- Autoblog scripts are free and there are tons of free blog sites that don’t require a domain
- Some dmoz editors are still corrupt, some wikipedia editors will post a page for a pinch of wacky tobacky, and some diggers will digg anything for a hundred bucks
- People still use dumb passwords
- Building your artifically inflated networks of websites often still works
- MSN
Enjoy your turkey fools, but don’t stray too far from your computer. You never know when your favorite knitting blog will be hijacked by the owner of viagra-mortgage-loan-lolita-mesothelioma-cialis-link-exchange.net. He has a lot to be thankful for today!

This year my wife decided to have a dry run thanksgiving day to test out her recipes. We soaked the bird in a brine solution she got at William Sonoma it really kept it moist. OMG, the turkey was so good and I get to do it again in a few days!
