Get Inside the Head of a Crazy Search Marketing Dude… THEN GET OUT!

I need ideas. In a month, I’m gonna turn 30 and I wanna throw myself the dopest party ever. Friends, family, loose acquaintances, people who wanna rip me off: You are all invited. Except the people who wanna rip me off.

Now I just need to plan this mofo. April 19, 2007 will mark year 30 of my earthly visit and I need to make it memorable. Anybody else ever have a kick ass 30th B-Day jam? What did you do to make it succeed? What should I do to pimp this thing?

When I turn 30 I plan on a Las Vegas Theme Weekend. Everyone has to dress up like that theme all weekend. I still have not decided on a theme yet, but I got 5 years!

If you don’t like the theme Vegas is still a damn good time.

Roast a pig in the back yard. Have everyone show up with Hawaiian Shirts and grass skirts. Place 30 Tiki Torches on a gigantic cake that a Hula dancer jumps out of. Etc…

    VVVEEEGGAAASSSS!!!

I love Vegas. I go there too much…
Hawaii, I might need a hook up on the Hula dancer!

I’m thinking an all day party where there are 2 parts- the family friendly day part: have all the fam over for swimming and Wii and stuff, then part 2- night time crazy fun for the “big kids”

Maybe I can hire Screech to make an appearance. That would be memorable!

Three things you do need my friend…

    1) Beer and barbecue. Lots of it. And I really mean lots.
    2) Women. Preferably in little clothing. I was recently in a hot tub with my partner and a mutual (hot) friend, both in bikinis… Damn my life is hard sometimes. It’s a tough job…
    3) Music. Music can be danced to by scantily clad ladies. Which is good. And it’s good with beer. And burgers. Heck, good music makes a party.

And, can you imagine the drinkbait potential? :)

If you really want it to be memorable, get a corporate sponsor…someone you’ve spent a lot of money on that would like to advertise to some of your guests. How many people have corporate sponsors on their birthdays? That’s right. Few. If you can get at least a few SEOs in to disucss why they should build some sites for your aff program, buy links, advertising, etc, the whole thing becomes a more favorable tax situation for you.

    1. Google Adwords owes you something at this point.
    2. Jarrod from TLB can probably use a write-off. :)
    3. Oversee.net sponsors a bunch of parties.

Here you go brother a 30th b-day never to forget!

BAR GOLF!!!! It is the only way to go.

Here is how ya do it!

    1) Map out your course, Pick 9 bars with in walking distance of each other.

2)Create par for each bar (for instance: Bar 1, a shot of tequila, bar 2 a gin and tonic, bar 3 a cosmo etc. try to match par, the drink, with theme of the bar or restaurant more fun that way)

    3) create the foursomes.

    4) create score cards with the name of each restaurant/bar and par (the drink) Each restaurant represents a hole ex: First hole: TGI Fridays, Par a huricane, 2nd Hole Daisy Buchanons, Par a shot of Jameson and a draft chaser, Hole 3 The Pour House, Par a Yard ETC. (The best way is to copy a real score card, it looks official :))

    5) Make everyone wear golf attire

    6) Establish meeting place (pre-party), start no later than 5:00. It will take you at least 5 hours to finish. pass out score cards to teams

    7) Go have at it. Stay at each bar for no more than 20 minutes or so. Enough time for everyone to get par, go for birdie or even in some cases for for eagle.

8)The winners is the team with the highest score (most drinks downed) and the individual with the highest score (most drinks downed) I recommend a prize. It motivates

    9) Scoring: Pars are accomplished by drinking “par” what is required for the whole. Birdie is accomplished by drinking two par, eagle is accomplished by drinking 3Xpar double eagle is accomplished by drinking 4xpar. Anybody stupid enough to go beyond dbl eagle, won’t even finish the course, pure amateur. On the card it scores like this: 1 for par, 2 for birdie, 3 for eagle and 4 for double eagle. Add em all up at the end of the course, if you can see straight enough and you have your winners.

Brother this is the most kick ass party you will ever, I mean ever, experience. It is perfect for an early spring party. They will be talking about it for the rest of your life. Imagine the looks on peoples faces when 50 of you walk into a bar a 2:30 in the afternoon in golf clothes (including glove, golf shoes and hat) and all order the same thing. It is a scene to be seen! Have fun bro! The Antman has struck again!

I read this blog a lot and never post… so this will seem random, but Antman that has got to be the coolest idea I’ve heard for a drinking game EVER.

I’ve just added it to my list of “Things to do in 2007″. Absolutely brilliant.

    Sally Strebel Says:

    Hey Chris,

Congrats on turning 30. I like what Antman said. If the bars are not close I would include a party bus. Some of the party buses have stripper poles, poker tables, kickin stereos, and under the seat ice coolers for the sauce. You could relate it to basketball and have 4 bars (4quarters) or football and have two bars (half time). That way it won’t take as long and you can still do the family barbecue thing during the day.
Also, white trash parties can be a lot of fun. Have all your guests arrive in white trash attire. Nascar, wife beaters, leather, and ratted hair a must! Serve spam and cocktail wienies. Be sure to put plastic on all furniture. Purchase a blowup kids play pool, fill it with ice, and put pabst, wine coolers and all the other cheap stuff in it. If possible, get a clunker on blocks for the front.

    Hope that helps!

I turned 30 last year, and I had a blast. I had planned it out a bit in advance, but that is the way I prefer it.

I wanted to be able to relax as much as possible, and not to stress out with planning or anything, so what I did was the following:

    - I rented a bar. Just for me and my guests. It was a really good bar in downtown Copenhagen, but fairly small. cost: around $300. That included 3 bottles of booze, so it was practically $0.

    - I put up $2000 in cash at the bar, for free drinks for the guests.

    - I paid $250 for food for the first 30 people, just snacks etc. and the bar people did all of picking up the food, arranging it, and cleaning up.

    - I hired a limo for 2 hours, to come pick up my fiancee and me, as well as my closest friends, and drive us around copenhagen for two hours and drink champagne until the party was due to start.

    - We showed up 30 minutes before the party was due to start, I prefer being the first one there.

Thats it.. We had an amazing party, and every one had a blast. My guests had a great time, and the initial $2000 was well spent, as people stayed afterwards, and drank for a lot more, so the bar people was happy as well.

That is how I spent my 30th, and that was simply the only way to go!
