I woke up this AM to some bad news. The blogosphere is buzzing like crazy. When I first heard the news on Danny Sullivan’s blog, I felt kinda the same way I felt when I heard Michael Jordan was going to retire. (the first time he retired, the rest of the retirement announcements didn’t have the same oomph)
Will the SES ever be the same? Will Danny move on and create a new “scene” for SEO and SEM professionals? If he does, I for one will still follow the guy who basically built the industry I thrive in.
The future of SES is uncertain, but one thing is for sure. Incisive Media may end up having the same fate as the Chicago Bulls when they lost Nike Mike. Hopefully Danny will see the same successes as Mr. Jordon when he moves on from the franchise he built.

Danny Sullivan was canned from SES. I’m not even sad to see him go.

That’s an interesting angle on it. After reading your blog, I was encouraged to hear you had similar feelings as I did… but your title sure is juicy!
